Renew Australia has partnered with Campbelltown Council to activate vacant spaces on and around Queen Street with creative ideas and enterprises.
About Renew On Q
The Renew on Q project will be based on Renew Australia’s successful methodology to borrow otherwise vacant space. The program will hire a local Project Manager to work with the local community, property owners, and representatives, to utilise these vacant commercial spaces and make them available to creatives and entrepreneurs, who will be able to trial their business, project, or ideas in a commercial setting. The property is provided on a rent-free basis via a 30-day rolling licence and offered to a business that complements, not competes, with existing businesses in the area.
Renew on Q is designed to rejuvenate areas experiencing commercial vacancy through increased foot traffic and activity, whilst supporting local creative and entrepreneurial communities. Through the activation of space and bringing new local ideas and businesses to visible shopfronts, the project aims to support existing traders by drawing people back into this area via events, workshops, exhibitions and classes.
Expressions of Interest for ‘Renew on Q‘ are now open and will remain open for the duration of the project. Artists, creative businesses, social enterprises and community groups who are looking for a space are welcome to apply.
Individuals, managing agents or property owners with vacant or underutilised spaces within the area are encouraged to contact Renew Australia – we would love to hear from you!
Thank you to Darren and the team at LJ Hooker Commercial Macarthur who have arranged for properties to be used by the program.
