Renew Far West NSW aims to bring empty buildings in Broken Hill and the Far West Region to life again. Property owners license (for a nominal sum) their buildings to renew Far West NSW while they have no tenants or are awaiting development.
Renew Far West NSW manages the short term use of the buildings.
Renew Far West NSW supports the property owner to the maximum extent possible to ensure that their involvement is tax effective and their contribution is seen as a positive contribution to the community. Renew Far West NSW then finds “custodians” who use the buildings for cultural, creative and community purposes until the owner finds a permanent tenant or a redevelopment is ready to proceed.
We believe that activity is the single most important factor in turning around vandalism and decay.
Renew Far West NSW seeks opportunities for creative people to innovate, test, develop and transform their enterprises and to activate and maintain these buildings until they become commercially viable or are redeveloped.
Shop space is available for people who sell the things that they make, gallery or exhibition space (eg visual arts, sound art), and studio space for creative industries enterprises (eg emerging designers, photography).
Renew Far West NSW is not set up to manage long term uses, own properties or permanently develop sites but to generate activity in buildings until that future long term activity happens.
RDA FW are calling for expressions of interest to occupy the empty spaces.
Contact us with your expression of interest.
