Dockland Spaces
After three years of activating empty tenancies, the Dockland Spaces project came to an end on 30 June 2016.

We at The Lifted Brow found the whole program hugely valuable. As an under-resourced organisation, the space and time that this initiative gave us allowed us to focus on the work, rather than on survival strategies, and we also found great solace in the community that formed of other Docklands Spaces participants.
Our time with Renew Australia was paramount to the success of our business. It gave us a great hub location where we could congregate and work out of.
The Docklands Spaces project allowed the growth of Belle Bicycles from a passion project to a full fledged business operating as an open studio encouraging interaction with customers and the general public in a way that would not have been possible without the support of Renew Australia.
The Docklands Spaces was a great initiative and allowed us as a collective to broaden our scope as art practitioners. Through the initiative we gained experience in running our workshop in a public sphere, by engaging an audience through workshops, exhibitions, functions and residencies, which in turn fed back into our personal art practice.
Renew allowed us to try out having an office before we were big enough to afford one on our own. We quickly learned how important it was for us. It let our business get serious.
