We’re thrilled to announce the launch of Aperture f/77 – our latest installation in a window on Fitzroy Street, St Kilda!
Aperture f/77 is a moving image pilot program of a co-curated feast of installations running day and night over 6 months. With an exciting program that ranges from St Kilda icons through early St Kilda music scene to Skate Culture and art, the space also offers opportunities to promote current events in the St Kilda precinct.
An initiative of Renew Australia, Aperture f/77 connects with a wide range of stakeholders, collaborating with Council, arts organisations and private funders to invest their collateral knowledge and material into promoting and celebrating the arts.
We are hugely grateful to Programming and Culture at City of Port Phillip for providing new high-fidelity projection hardware, technical expertise as well as their networks for delivering ongoing content collaborations with local screen-based businesses and organisations. As well, for the support of local property owners which allows Renew Australia projects such incredible opportunities to be conceived and realised.
“I’m loving the idea of something like Aperture on Fitzroy St and the iterations are endless. The CoPP has a fabulous heritage and contemporary art collection in its own right including still and moving images, but the City also houses a range of the most dynamic screen industry businesses and producers in the country. To be able to work with them and provide even a small public creative outlet is a great pleasure and honour”
Richard Sowada, CoPP Film and Industry Lead and Director of the St Kilda Film Festival
